Flyff Universe Version 1.4.0
※ Version 1.4.0 will be updated on 10/17 maintenance.
※ This notice will be updated as needed prior to the release.
Madrigal Tournament
With the Battle for Madrigal expansion, Madrigal Tournament will be introduced, which is a small weekly tournament. This tournament rotates every week between a 3v3 mode and 1v1 mode. You will be able to apply at the Arena Manager NPC, Lay.
(Menu for the tournament)
In order to register for the tournament, you will need to pay a registration fee of 1,000,000 Penya and be at least level 120. For the 3v3 week, you will also need to register your teammates who will be participating by forming a party with whom you want to register, and proceed to register as the party leader. Matches will be held at 21:00 server time, with the exception of a backup match on 21:30 server time on Friday. During the weekends, there will be 2 matches at 21:00 and 21:30 respectively.
(Interface for the weekly ranking)
You can view the weekly ranking, the days you’ve participated on, and their results at Lay. You will also be able to view upcoming tournaments. During the tournament, you will fight in an arena similar to the FWC tournament, if you have participated in it.
(Arena for the Madrigal Tournament)
During weekdays (Monday to Friday) there will be a preliminary tournament, where you will earn 3 points for victory, 1 point for ties and 0 for defeats. In the event of a tie, the team with more kills wins, and in the event of a tie & same kills, the team with fewer deaths wins. In case there is a need to break a scoring tie, there will be a back-up match that will be held every Friday evening where it would be a free-for-all match to determine the winner.
After the weekly preliminary fights, there will be a finals tournament during the weekend to find out who is the strongest player/team for that week. The top 16 teams from the preliminary fights will be entered into the Rounds of 16 and will be fought in a tournament-like format.
(How a finals tournament might look like)
In the case where there are fewer teams that enter the tournament, matches might be reduced accordingly. (ex. If only 8 teams advance and skip round of 16, we will have 1 battle on Saturday and 2 battles on Sunday to determine the final winner)
You will be able to obtain a new type of chip called the Yellow Chip to exchange for various rewards. Please note that all rewards can be claimed inside the tournament UI at Lay until the end of the next Finals match (Sun 21:30). If you don’t claim it by then, it won’t be available.
You can exchange this item for rewards such as exclusive vendor shop skins, new statted cloaks, premium items, and more through the NPC [Chip Merchant] Waforu.
(New vendor shop skin examples)
You will also be able to bid on who you think will be winning with Penya for a chance to win more Penya. You will be able to bid on the 4 final teams who will be fighting for the semi-finals and finals on Sunday.
(Bidding window interface)
Bidding will be closed at 16:00 server time on Sunday. The Penya will be distributed after deducting a 20% commission by the system to be the total Penya pool, with the #1 ranking bidder to receive 15% of the total pool, #2 ranking bidder receiving 10%, #3 ranking bidder receiving 5% and the other participants receiving 50% of the amount divided by the total number of participants.
Couple System
With this expansion, a couple system is being introduced to the game, allowing you to form a couple with whoever you desire, sharing various benefits together!
(The couple interface)
To form a couple, you and your partner would have to be level 61 or above and will need to propose to another character using a ring. In order to propose, there will be a new option when you bring up the menu for another character called “Couple Proposal”. Please note there will be no character gender restrictions to forming a couple.
There will be a basic ring sold by the in-game NPC Cupid with Penya, as well as cash shop exclusive rings that will provide additional benefits. You will also be able to change the ring any time you wish by simply using the item in your inventory and your partner accepting the change.
(Proposing to another character using a couple ring)
Once you become a couple, you will have various perks available to use. First and foremost, you will be able to teleport to your partner’s location. The number of available daily teleports will depend on which ring you use and will reset every day.
For the basic Cubic Ring purchased with Penya, you will be able to teleport 1 time per day. All of the cash shop Ring items will have 2 teleports available per day.
You will also have unique skills and buffs to use. More skills will be unlocked as your couple level increases, and you will need couple skill points to able to use the couple skills. You can obtain skill points by either leveling up or getting system gifts for different anniversary milestones. You will also have the option to purchase items that give you skill points if you need them from the cash shop as well. Note that your ring does not affect the available skills or their strength.
(All the available couple skills)
You will also have access to couple-only motions. Your partner will need to accept your request so that you can synchronize your location beforehand to perform the motion.
(Additional motions available to couples)
There are two ways to gain experience towards your couple level. The first and more ineffective way is passive experience gain while both members of the couple are online. The more efficient way will be completing random daily couple quests. Every day, there will be two random couple quests selected, one for each member of a couple. These quests are fairly simple, and are mostly kill or gather quests at lower level areas.
(The couple NPC which provides daily quests)
You get special anniversary gifts in your mail based on the number of days you’ve maintained your relationship with your partner.
You will also be able to use a special housing template for couples only. This will be similar to your Personal Housing but items will be shared between the two partners! You will need to purchase a special couples-only template for this feature. Please note that in the case you break up, the person who has purchased the template will keep the housing template on their character.
(New Couple Exclusive menus will be available from the Housing NPC)
You will also have Couple’s Storage that will be shared between you and your partner. More slots can be obtained by leveling up your Couple level and/or purchasing a higher-grade ring from the cash shop.
Please note that all these perks will be gone and your couple level will be reset once you choose to break up, so proceed with caution if you choose to do so.
Ultimate Jewels
In the Battle for Madrigal update, you will be able to enhance your Ultimate Weapon even further with Ultimate Jewels. With each upgrade of your ultimate weapon, a jewel/rune slot will be unlocked, giving you a total of 5 slots. There are many different types of jewels, each with 10 grades. Note that you cannot insert more than one of the same type of jewel, regardless of grade! If your weapon’s upgrade level drops after unlocking a jewel slot, the slot remains unlocked, but the effects of any jewels/runes inserted into that slot are disabled until the weapon is of a sufficient upgrade level again.
(Example weapon with 3 ultimate jewels and 2 runes equipped)
To place the jewels in your Ultimate Weapon, simply double click the jewel and use it on the weapon you desire, much like how you would use a piercing card.
Here are the different types of jewels currently implemented.
These jewels will have different grades from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest. Runes are a special, more powerful type of jewel with only one grade, which increases stats in percentages.
There are various ways to obtain jewels. Firstly, 141+ dungeons’ monsters have chances to drop an Ultimate Jewel Box, which has a chance to give you one of various jewel items of grade 1 and 2, jewel pieces, and runes, which can only be obtained by this method at the moment. The second method is using Ultimate Jewel Gemstones. These gemstones also drop from the same dungeon monsters, and can be broken down at the Jewel Manager into different types of jewels and pieces.
(Gemstone placed to be converted)
You will have a chance to craft different Jewel Fragments from the gemstone or have a low chance of obtaining a whole grade 1 Jewel. The cash shop item “Cutting Knife” will always guarantee the success of getting a Jewel Fragment and boost the chance of yielding more pieces.
(Jewel pieces conversion example)
Once you have 10 jewel pieces, you can attempt to convert them into one grade 1 jewel. If you fail, you will yield between 1 and 10 of the pieces back. There will also be a cash shop item called “Mana Stone” that prevents you from losing any pieces on failure, always yielding back 10 pieces when you fail.
(Jewel Fusion example)
If you have at least 3 full jewels of the same grade, you can fuse them into one of the next grade. You may fuse between 3 and 6 jewels, with your chance of success increasing as you fuse more. Upon failure, you can yield back between 0 and 3 of the jewels used in the process, with a cash shop item called “Advanced Mana Stone” changing that range to between 1 and 3.
You can remove the Ultimate Jewel that you have placed with 5,000,000 Penya. However, this will destroy the jewel in the process. If you would like to keep the jewel that you remove, you can use the cash shop item Jewel Tweezers to preserve the jewel you are removing.
New Housing Features
There will be even more housing contents available for you to enjoy this update. Firstly, you will be able to dress up the Housing NPCs you have with the costumes or equipment you own! You will be able to choose what look the housing NPC will have from your Cosmetic Wardrobe. Please note that once the NPC’s usage expires the costume you’ve set will be reset.
(Wardrobe to dress up your housing NPCs)
Furthermore, you will be able to train your raised pets via an NPC called Mac available from the cash shop. This NPC will feed your raised pets at specific intervals with the relevant Pet Candy grade of the NPC. Please note that the NPC will be divided according to the Pet Candy grade you need and the higher grade NPC won’t be able to provide the lower grade Pet Candy to your pets. You will need to register your pets in your housing’s objects list and you will be able to select which pet you want to raise from the NPC. You can register up to 3 pets at the start and if you need more slots available, you will be able to purchase the item Scroll of Pet Inventory (Character House) from the cash shop to increase the slot by 1 and to have up to 15 slots.
Also, once you place the pets in your housing, they will roam freely within your housing area!
(Pet Training interface)
You will have more templates to choose from this time, with the small (S) sized ones available via the NPC and the larger ones from the cash shop. This time there will be even larger housing templates in the manner of (L) and (XL) sizes as well! There will also be a new cash item called “Scroll of Housing Preset” to increase your housing preset amount by 1 which goes up to 20 in case you want to use more than 1 template according to your taste and want more presets to customize to your needs.
(New housing template example)
You will also have new interaction menus available for different furniture
(New sleeping on bed furniture interaction)
Rainbow Race enhancements
(New Rainbow Race menu)
We’ll be adding a new Rainbow Race mode, and solo or duo modes. Item race will be using the same track as you already know, but there will be a new Duo Team race mode. Teams will be assigned randomly or with a friend of your choice. The overall ranking for your team will be the highest ranking from that team. There will also be special items on top of the items you already are familiar with that will be team-based.
For the Speed race mode, it will be on a completely new track, and with checkpoints that usually give items, it will only give boost items that will increase your speed even faster!
Forsaken Tower Expansion
There are new Forsaken Tower floors to be explored! Floor 6 will be for characters between level 136 to 145, and floor 7 will be for level 146 and above. Please note that Floor 5 will now be level capped at level 135.
